Post-capitalism, collapse…? Alternatives in the face of the end of an accumulation model

The “Jornadas de Economía Crítica” Conference (JEC) is an open meeting space that has been organized for three decades. On this occasion, it will take place from June 12th to 14th, 2024, at the University of Santiago de Compostela, organized by the Association of Critical Economy and the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the aforementioned University.
Contemporary economic crises and the resulting eco-social emergencies have demonstrated the end of an accumulation model. For the immediate future of humanity, a critical diagnosis is necessary to propose fair alternatives to the current global economic order and to minimize existing inequalities at different levels. Therefore, this time, the JEC will consist of several plenary sessions and traditional discussion sessions where communications will be presented, as well as spaces for dialogue between economics and other disciplines, activism, and the role of critical economics in education.
We encourage you to submit communications on topics that have traditionally been the focus of the JEC: theoretical approaches to critical economics, aspects of the global economy, labour market, relationships between the economy and nature, feminist economics, welfare state and social protection, economic policies, etc. In any case, all communications analysing economic issues of interest from a critical perspective will be welcomed.

Submission of Communication Abstracts (extended deadline): February 29th, 2024
Acceptance of Abstracts: March 20th, 2024
Deadline for payment by attendees with presentation: April 30th, 2024
Deadline for payment by attendees without presentation: May 31st, 2024
